Speakers’ Bio

KRUNO PERKOVIC
Mr. Perkovic founded Synchrony to provide a modern approach to quantitative risk recruiting and consulting. Throughout his career, Mr. Perkovic worked on a wide range of topics including risk strategy, risk analytics and technology. Prior to founding Synchrony, Mr. Perkovic worked for a leading global strategy firm and prior to that for a global Canadian bank in the areas of model development, validation and risk analytics.
Mr. Perkovic was appointed board member of the Industry Advisory Board of the Fields Institute at the University of Toronto in 2012. He was elected board member of Master of Financial Economics program at the Western University in 2013, has been member of the Steering Committee of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) Toronto Chapter since 2012 and is a fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute. Mr. Perkovic is also a member of advisory board of TESLA Magazine, a periodical established in Toronto to promote legacy and research of Nikola Tesla.
Mr. Perkovic received degrees in Economics/Statistics, Financial Mathematics and Business Law and is visiting lecturer at several universities in Canada.

STEPHEN LAM

Mr.Lam started his career at TD Asset Management in 1997. During the next 4 years, his title quickly evolved from Investment Consultant to team manager of TD Asset Management and was later promoted to the branch management role at TD Canada Trust in 2005. In 2010, Mr.Lam was recruited by RBC and he is currently managing a branch in North York.
Aside from his branch manager role, Mr.Lam has also exhibited his leadership in a number of organizations in our community. Formerly Vice-Chairman of the board of Directors at the Toronto Chung Wah Chinese School (2005-2013), he was recently appointed by the board as their Senior Advisor. At the Welcome Centre Immigration Service in Richmond Hill, Mr.Lam is one of the founders and guest speakers of the Financial Mentorship Program. For 3 consecutive years, Mr.Lam was elected as the President of the Toronto Mandarin Lions Club and the Chairman of the Mandarin Lions Arts Festival from 2008 to 2011. Mr.Lam had also been formerly appointed as the Senior Ambassador of the United Way in 2007, 2010 & 2011.
Mr.Lam received his BA in 1992 from the Economics and Industrial Relation Program at University of Toronto.

ROSE JIN

Ms. Rose Jin is a Certified Investor Agent Specialist (“CIAS”), a top producing Real Estate Broker. She has won Remax International Platnium Award, featured in Remax Realtron Magazine for her insight and achievements. Rose has been a guest speaker on TV and radio. Prior to real estate, Rose had 12 years of Corporate Banking experience at Royal Bank, BMO Nesbitt Burns, Citibank, TD Securities, Bank of Nova Scotia and CIBC in the capacities of Account Management to Risk Management.
Rose has won “5 year Volunteer Award” from the Ontario government, devoting time and money to UNICEF, LTEF and Sick Children’s Hospital. She is a founding Director and career transition coach of New Horizon Career Club; Chairman of 2011 New Year Concerts by the Chinese Artists Society of Toronto (“CAST”); Director of Toronto Chinese Women Chamber of Commerce and the Managing Partner of several companies in the fields of Management Consulting, Investments and Food Services.
Rose received her MBA in 1995 from Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto. She has co-translated John Hull’s book “Risk Management and Financial Institutions”.
